SCHOOL SUPPLIES PROJECT

Back to School is always memorable for families when they send their children off to school. For some families, back to school is stressful due to inability to supply the necessary basics for their children to experience the joy of going back to school.

The Back-to-School Supplies Project was founded to provide school supplies to families who cannot afford them.

Each year Field of Dreams Empowerment Center delivers backpacks to students within the indigenous and immigrant communities.

There are thousands of students in the indigenous and immigrant communities who need backpacks with school supplies, clothing, and shoes to attend school.

With more resources we can help even more students.

FOOD PROJECT

Food distribution has increased with the COVID-19 pandemic and the resurgence of cases, the need for emergency food continues at historically high levels.

Lost jobs and wages, reduced access to free meals for kids, fear of shopping because of health concerns, and the loss of support networks all contribute to the increased need.

Today, five in eight families in the BIPOC and Immigrant communities compared to other communities need food supplies

We are currently distributing culturally connected food to families in the BIPOC and Immigrant communities and other communities that are in need.

One of our goals is to end hunger in the BIPOC and Immigrant communities and establish the following:

  • Create a food shelf environment that is client-centered, promoting, and respecting individual choice.

  • Increase access to a variety of healthy, culturally appropriate food.

  • Apply behavioral economic principles promote healthy food choices

  • Create an appealing environment by transforming the physical space

  • Meet specific Super Shelf standards, methods, and values

  • Make the healthiest choice the easiest choice for all

YOUTH INTERVENTION PROJECT

Youth Intervention helps young people become productive adults and contributing members of society versus consumers of public services.

Intervention strategies are as diverse as the youth themselves and they assist in keeping youth in their schools, communities and out of the costly juvenile justice system.

At the core of every Youth Intervention program is the ability for a caring adult to build a meaningful relationship with a young person.

We provide truancy prevention services for Youth who are struggling with delinquency, mental health, social, academic, relational, or other issues that are at risk for lifelong problematic behaviors.

Truancy Prevention services ranges from:

  • Literacy and Academic Assistance

  • Behavioral Interventions

  • Counseling

  • Mentoring

  • Juvenile Justice System Diversions and Restorative justice,

  • After school Activities

  • Career Exploration and life skills classes, and

BIPOC & IMMIGRANT PROJECT

Field of Dreams Empowerment Center has been working with and serving the BIPOC and Immigrants Communities for a while.

Throughout the years we have partner with community and faith leaders and community-based group leaders and other organizations to reach out to the underserved and underprivileged members in the BIPOC and Immigrant communities.

We have built trust with these communities through continuous interactions with troubled youths, concerned mothers, single moms, and leaders, and involvement in small and big community-based projects.

We have served through job training and readiness to obtain a job, assist with health care application, immigration issues, assist in completing job applications, clothing drive, cultural food drive box food, back to school supplies, tax preparation, provide hygiene and essentials to women, empowering the youth through vocational and skills training.
